HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. — Lawrie Nickerson started her four-acre organic pledge blueberry farm in 2008. She and her farm partner, Karen added eight lavender varieties, annual cut flowers, and pumpkins in 2013 to diversify the farm. Due to the interest in lavender from blueberry U-Pickers they continue to develop their sustainable lavender production skills.

The goal of this research project is to evaluate essential oil herb cultivars for pest challenges, winter hardiness, yield, and oil quality.
