SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Pork Producers Association and the University of Illinois Extension are hosting one last PQA Plus Advisor training for the 2019 year. The session will take place Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Illinois Department of Agriculture, FFA Room, 801 E Sangamon Ave. in Springfield, Ill. Lunch is provided.
This training session is open to individuals who want to become certified or those who are needing to re-certify.
To be eligible as a PQA Plus Advisor, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a veterinarian, extension specialist, or ag educator (defined for this program as a person who spends full time in adult education or a least half time in production training) AND
- Have a D.V.M. or B.S. in animal science or an equivalent combination of education and swine production experience as determined by the PQA Plus trainer reviewing the applications AND
- Have two years of recent documented swine production experience.
