DOVER, Del. — USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Ducks Unlimited are hosting a free, public workshop on wetland restoration and the American Black Duck initiative on October 24, 2019 in Milford, Delaware.
Producers and landowners are invited to attend a brief, interactive workshop at 9:30am at the Milford Public Library to learn about available financial and technical resources to help restore and create waterfowl and wetlands habitat in Delmarva. Light refreshments will be served.
This workshop is intended for producers or landowners interested in restoring previously drained or ditched wetlands, creating new shallow water habitat from low-lying marginal cropland, or restoring and creating vegetative areas adjacent to wetlands which could serve as nesting habitat. Assistance is also available for coastal participants to evaluate saltwater inundated areas and plant native, salt tolerant species to anticipate future marsh migration, create waterfowl habitat, and control invasive Phragmites.
