MILFORD, Pa. — According to the Pocono District of Penn State Extension, A Land Use Decision-making webinar will be held on March 15 from noon to 1:15 p.m. The topic is Pipelines & People: How Communities Can Better Understand & Manage Pipelines.
This is the third in a series of five webinars for Winter/Spring 2017. These monthly Land Use Webinars will help land owners, farmers, elected and appointed officials, developers and community members who are involved in decision-making processes regarding using or preserving natural resources come together to make better land use decisions.
Municipalities can address pipeline safety at the local level through best planning practices and ordinance regulations. This webinar session will address specific tools for pipeline planning and discuss pipeline safety, legal issues, MPC obligations, comprehensive planning concepts and local standards to assess impact and regulate pipeline-related activities. The presenters are John Gaadt, Principal Gaadt Perspectives, and Dave Messersmith, Extension Educator, Penn State Extension.
