Eligible candidates include kiwifruit growers who produce kiwifruit for the fresh market, and employees of these growers. From the elected nominees, the USDA Secretary shall select the members and alternate members to serve on the Committee.
The Kiwifruit Administrative Committee administers the federal marketing order for kiwifruit. Â The Committee is composed of ten grower members and alternates, and one public member and alternate. Nominations were held in the three districts in California, encompassing the production area.
The Kiwifruit Administrative Committee has made a commitment to enhance the diversity of the organization and is working in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to encourage eligible women, minorities, persons with disabilities, organic or non-conventional producers, small businesses, and individuals who have never served on the Committee to serve as committee members or alternates.
