FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Fall meeting of the Kentucky Nut Growers Association will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Kentucky State University Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm, 1525 Mills Lane. Frankfort, KY 40601 at 10:00 a.m. EDT.
Directions:
Take US 127 north from the Bluegrass Parkway/Lawrenceburg or south from I-64/Frankfort
Turn on to Mills Lane and follow to the KSU Research and Demonstration Farm, which will be on the right at 1525 Mills Lane, Frankfort, KY 40601. There is a large stone sign by the road.
Follow the driveway to enter the farm, and the Center for Sustainability of Farms and Families where the meeting will be held is at the end of the main drive.
There will be a potluck luncheon, and everyone is asked to bring a side dish.
Participants are encouraged to bring nut exhibits and nuts for tasting. We are not planning a fundraising auction this fall.

11:30 Pecan, Chestnut Weevil, and Stink Bug Control – Dr. Ric Bessin
12 Noon. Potluck Luncheon. KSU will feature their renowned pawpaw ice cream. KNGA will provide the meat, and everyone is asked to bring a side dish. If you bring something that will need to be heated or warmed, there is a well-equipped kitchen available.
1:00 p.m. Tour the KSU Clonal Germplasm Repository for Pawpaw Planting – Dr. Kirk Pomper, Sheri Crabtree and Jeremy Lowe (We are not planning a fundraising auction this fall.)
Anyone that has an interest in nuts and nut trees is welcome to attend. It has been two years since our last meeting.
