SMITHFIELD, N.C. — On October 30 ,2017, NC Cooperative Extension held a Southeast District Extension Conference at the Johnston County Extension Center. This conference was specifically for the 18-county region of which Johnston is a part, and was held in conjunction with five similar conferences throughout the state.
At this meeting, NC Cooperative Extension employees from all levels of the organization learned of a new initiative to further strengthen customer service from the organization to the citizens of North Carolina. NC Cooperative Extension is a collaborative effort between NC State University and NC A&T State University that partners with county governments to deliver informal educational programs to address needs in agriculture, food, nutrition, and 4-H Youth Development.
At the district conferences, employees were recognized for outstanding efforts in Cooperative Extension. Katie Moore, Johnston County Administrative Assistant was presented a special Above and Beyond award recognizing her outstanding efforts in planning and facilitation of the district conference. “Katie goes above and beyond in many aspects of her work on a daily basis in Johnston County. She provides great customer service to the people we serve each and every day,” according to Bryant Spivey, Johnston County Extension Director.
