MONTROSE, Pa. — Looking for a wonderful educational opportunity for your children (ages 8-13)? The Penn State Junior Master Gardener program offers children the opportunity to learn about the many aspects of horticulture. Through a partnership with the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Susquehanna County and the Susquehanna County 4-H programs, kids will receive basic instruction in botany, insects, berries, trees, soils, vegetables, flowers, fruits, a pumpkin harvest plus much more! The Junior Master Gardener program is full of experiments and growing challenges!
This program will be held virtually with the possibility of a few face-to-face field trips depending on COVID restrictions. Children will sign up online through the Susquehanna County 4-H program:Â 4h.zsuite.org. The deadline to sign up this year for new 4-H members is: May 1st. Deadline for returning members to re-register is March 31st.
This is a wonderful, interactive, fun and educational opportunity to share with your children and give them a lifetime of sustainable skills. If you have a child or know children who have a big interest in gardening, this program is for them!
