ALBANY — Join the Farmer & Ranch Stress Assistance Network Northeast (FRSAN-NE) veterans cohort (comprised on NCAT, PA Veteran Farming Project, the CT Farmer Veteran Coalition and other members), on November 3rdĀ from 11:30am-1pm, for an open space meeting where we will hear from Pamela Hess, Executive Director of Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food and Agriculture (http://www.arcadiafood.org/), and the newly formed Connecticut Farmer Veteran Coalition chapter highlight their programs and supports for farmer veterans. They will share some of the lessons learned along the way in getting their programs off the ground, as well as some of their unlikely partners in success. Then we’ll break off into virtual rooms for smaller group discussions based on interests raised during the presentations. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how two programs got started as well as resources and a network to grow their farmer veteran programs across the Northeast.
At this meeting we will also unveil a technical assistance opportunity for organizations across the Northeast interested in leveraging their existing programs to better serve veterans in agriculture.
