Statement of Duties:
The selected candidate will be a member of a professional team responsible for the survey, design, construction supervision and as-built documentation of agricultural projects for the Watershed Agricultural Program (WAP) in the West of Hudson New York City Watershed. Preference given to candidates that have experience in designing agricultural Best Management Practices including diversion ditches, waterways, culvert crossings, underground outlets, spring developments, barnyard water exclusions and waste storage facilities.
The selected candidate will be required to prepare engineering designs according to USDA/NRCS standards and specifications. Experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and ARCMap preferred but not required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or related software required.
Starting Salary and Benefits:
Salary Range $40,000 – $50,000 based on experience. 100% Family Health Insurance, New York State Retirement System, Enhanced Disability Benefits, NYS Deferred Compensation Program, Vacation and Sick Leave. Advancement/promotion opportunities.
Minimum Requirements:
A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelorās degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Forest Technology, Landscape Design, Natural Resource Conservation, Surveying, Construction Management, or closely related studies. Experience preferred in Agricultural, Civil or Environmental Engineering which shall include survey and design-related work.
OR
B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associateās degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Forest Technology, Landscape Design, Natural Resource Conservation, Surveying, Construction Management, or closely related studies and 2 years of experience in Agricultural, Civil or Environmental Engineering which shall include survey and design-related work;
OR
C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined in A & B above.
AND
D) A valid NYS Driverās License required.
AND
E) Civil Service exam required following provisional appointment.
