Measurement to Management

The Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for coordinating health and safety initiatives across Dairy One. The Health and Safety Coordinator will partner with departments to evaluate safety needs and identify solutions. They will coordinate delivery of solutions, which may include identifying what training is needed, how it will be delivered, and by whom. The position is responsible for overall regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations (EPA, SARA II, OSHA). The Coordinator will make recommendations to management in order to promote safe and legally compliant working conditions for all employees. This position requires significant collaboration with business unit leaders and will interact with staff across the organization. The ability to collaborate and build trust is essential to success.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • development and monitoring of safety plans
  • coordination of training and maintenance of training logs
  • facility inspections
  • record keeping and compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in a health and safety compliance role
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and regulations
  • Experience with regulatory documentation/record-keeping requirements is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Farm/animal handling experience is helpful
  • OSHA certification preferred
