Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Essex County NY is looking to fill the role of Executive Director. CCE Essex has had an interim Executive Director since 2019, when the previous director stepped down. CCE Essex board and staff are now looking to permanently fill the role with a dynamic person who will provide overall leadership and management, guiding and supporting staff.
About CCE Essex
CCE Essex is a local provider of non-formal education as part of the statewide Cornell Cooperative Extension network in the Adirondack Park, a scenic, rural region with spectacular recreation, food, history, culture, and beauty. We create measurable change in the following priority areas by aligning local needs with the resources and priorities of the land grant system and its state and local partners:
- Agriculture and Food Systems
- Environment and Natural Resources, Sustainable Energy, and Climate Change
- 4-H Youth Development / Children, Youth and Families
- Nutrition, Food Safety and Security, and Obesity Prevention
- Community and Economic Vitality
Specific programs that CCE Essex leads are 4-H, Adirondack Harvest, agriculture support and outreach, Farm to Institution, Master Gardener, educational and support services for local families and seniors, workshops and community events.

About the Position
The Executive Director would be responsible for the association and leading the development and implementation of a compelling and contemporary vision for non-formal, locally relevant extension programming, and a dynamic and diverse organizational culture for all internal and external stakeholders. The Executive Director would empower staff in sustaining and growing association programming under the direction of the board of directors.
Candidates should demonstrate success with fund development, management of community-based organizations, volunteer engagement and partnership with local, county, and state government. Candidates must also have six year’s relevant leadership experience and a Master’s Degree. Includes excellent benefits including state retirement and health.
