JEFFERSON CO., N.Y. — Jefferson County Farm Bureau was proud to present outgoing Jefferson County Dairy Princess Krystle Burger with a $500 scholarship for her contribution to agriculture. She received the award last month during the 54th Annual Dairy Princess Promotion Coronation. She is the daughter of Farm Bureau members Mike and Kris Burger of Deer Run Dairy in Adams.
Krystle, 19, recently graduated from Morrisville State College with an Associate’s Degree in Dairy Science and will complete two more semesters to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business. Over the past five years, she has been an outstanding active advocate for agriculture as a member of the Dairy Princess Court. She spent two years as an Ambassador, one year as Alternate Dairy Princess and held the title of Dairy Princess in 2014-2015 and again in 2016-2017. During that time, Krystle has provide countless hours of educational programming to school children throughout the county on how milk is produced and its nutritional benefits. She has also used her knowledge and passion to promote the industry throughout the community.
“Jefferson County Farm Bureau is pleased to support our next generation of leaders through our scholarship program,” said County Farm Bureau President Adam Miner. “Krystle’s enthusiasm and dedication for the dairy industry and agriculture as a whole have been an asset in raising awareness among the non-farm public.”
