WESTMORELAND, N.Y. — To kick off the new year, the New York Beef Council, is recruiting and rewarding beef and dairy producers who complete the Masters of Beef Advocacy program in the month of January!
Why become MBA Certified?
Has a consumer ever asked you how you care for your animals? Do you ever struggle to accurately explain the care and practices that go into producing high quality and safe beef? Have you wondered what you can do to better help consumers understand the beef industry?
Masters of Beef Advocacy 2.0 (MBA) is a program developed to equip beef producers across the country to tell their story. Specifically, MBA is designed to enhance the conversations happening around beef! This can be in the form of presentations to schools and church/civic groups, through local media and in the “virtual” world of the internet.
Being informed about the best way to answer the tough questions and the messages consumers are most eager to hear makes your job as a representative of the beef industry easier. Making a commitment to Masters of Beef Advocacy is the right thing to do to continue to increase consumer confidence and beef demand.
What Is the MBA Program?
The MBA program is a self-directed online training program designed to equip beef producers, including our youth and industry allies, with the information they need to be everyday advocates for the beef industry. MBA candidates will be required to complete five courses in beef advocacy, including:
• The Beef Community
• Raising Cattle on Grass
• Life in the Feedyard
• From Cattle to Beef
• Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner
It is of utmost importance that the public has confidence in knowing that beef is a safe product produced through with the highest standards in animal welfare and sustainability.
Take the Time & Win a Prize:
January is the perfect time to complete the Masters on Beef Advocacy modules. Each of the five modules takes about an hour to complete and can be finished in multiple sessions from the comfort of your own home. There is no cost associated with the program and following the completion of the program graduates are invited to join the Masters of Beef Advocacy Alumni Association – a virtual community for MBA graduates to log your advocacy activity and share stories with fellow MBA graduates, as well as download the latest talking points, fact sheets and presentations you need to be “everyday advocates.”
Everyone who completes all of the Master of Beef Advocacy Modules and emails kbrosnan@nybeef.org by February 10th will be entered to win a $50.00 gift card to a steakhouse of their choice!
All MBA graduates can also stop by the NY Beef Council Booth at the NY Farm Show to pick up a special gift.
