ORISKANY, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County with support from Oneida County Farm Bureau invite all local farm families to a free discussion on communicating and planning your farms’ transition plan. The discussion is scheduled for Thursday January 30, 2020 at 7:00pm and will be held at the CCE of Oneida Co. office located at 121 Second Street in Oriskany.
The featured guest speaker is financial advisor with Hearth Financial Planners, Mr. Bruce Erath. Stemming from the growing interest in the Young Farmers’ Discussion Group the topic of farm transition planning warrants the attention of both the senior and young farmers in our area. Topics slated for discussion include: why your farm needs a team; first and second generation farmers, why you need each other; steps involved in transition planning and what factors to consider when deciding if your transition plan makes sense.
Reservations are required and allow us to contact you in the event of cancellations due to weather. Please RSVP by calling 315-736-3394 ext. 132 by Monday January 27, 2020.
