SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. — The Jackson Pin Thimbler’s 4-H club held their first meeting for 2023 on January 14th at the North Jackson United Methodist Church. A welcome letter was passed out to new and returning members reviewing what 4-H is, the requirements, and the 4-H pledge. Club leaders Rhaylene Britten and Chrissy Haley reviewed all of the club’s last year accomplishments including the club receiving the Blue-Ribbon award. Club leaders congratulated the members on all of their accomplishment at the Harford Fair and at the Susquehanna County 4-H achievement night.
Many of the club members received grand champion ribbon, reserved grand champion, blue ribbons, and many other awards. Leaders discussed plans for the upcoming year which included community service projects and fundraising ideas. Returning Club members will receive a club sweatshirt purchased from fund raising. Several fun activities were discussed such as ice skating and doing a maple syrup tour this year.
Last year’s club officers reviewed each of the officer positions and the requirements. Nominations for officer positions were accepted. Voting will take place at our next meeting. Club members selected meeting dates and times that worked for all, and a schedule of meeting dates was created. A shout out to the club leader, Rhaylene Britten, for an amazing 50 years of service as a 4-H volunteer leader. The Jackson Pin Thimblers Club is lucky to have her!
