WATERLOO, Iowa — Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Week celebrates education, partnerships for a strong Iowa
ISU Extension & Outreach Black Hawk County office will host activities throughout the week sharing the legacy and demonstrating how ISU Extension and Outreach is building a strong Iowa. You are invited to join us for a coffee break every afternoon this week between 2:00 and 4:30pm, stop by our office and enjoy a treat!
Staff from the Black Hawk County office kicked off the week by serving as Meal Program Volunteers at The Salvation Army in Waterloo on Monday the 16th. The Salvation Army serves a cafeteria style lunch Monday through Friday. Our team of six volunteers served 70 hot meals to the wonderful citizens that stopped by for lunch today.
Also this week we will be collecting donations to give to four local non-profit organizations this week as we focus on service. House of Hope, Americans for Independent Living, and the Cedar Bend Humane Society will benefit from Extension staff collections. On Friday, Black Hawk County Staff will volunteer with AmeriCorps GreenCorps in collecting trash from Highway 20.
These efforts are to highlight how ISU Extension & Outreach is here to serve Iowans with research based services and programs to create a Strong Iowa.
