NASHUA, Iowa — The Annual Fall Field Day at the ISU Northeast Research and Demonstration Farm near Nashua will be held 1:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., Wednesday, September 5. Steve Johnson, ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist, will discuss the crop market outlook. Antonio Mallarino, Extension Soil Fertility Specialist, will present research on the use of high rates of gypsum and a soil lime/pH update. A farm wagon tour will be held with Meaghan Anderson, Extension Field Agronomist, sharing her thoughts on weed management, herbicide resistance and crop injury. Daren Mueller, ISU Extension Plant Pathologist, will review corn and soybean diseases that have impacted crops in 2018 and disease prevention strategy for 2019.
The field day is free and open to the public. The field day begins at the Borlaug Learning Center Headquarters on the farm located at 3321 290th Street, Nashua. CCA credits will be available. For more information, contact ISU Field Agronomist Terry Basol at ph. 641-426-6801.
