BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Calling all agronomy professionals! The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is looking for its next group of ILSoyAdvisor Soy Envoys.
This program was established by ISA in partnership with Illinois Certified Crop Advisers. This year, the program is expanding to include all agronomy experts across the state (i.e. soil scientists, plant breeders, extension professionals, farmers, etc.), providing local recommendations throughout the season to Illinois farmers.dd
“Being a part of the Soy Envoy program is a great way to network with agronomy experts across the state, strengthen communication skills and learn new management practices from peers,” says Abigail Peterson, ISA Director of Agronomy. “One of the greatest benefits of the program is connecting with professionals in the field and diving into regional agronomics that are happening in-season. The agronomic talent of the Soy Envoys translates into all aspects of their work making the program not only informative and actionable, but also fun!”
Soy Envoys contribute actionable information, advice and in-season updates via the ILSoyAdvisor blog to support Illinois soybean farmers in their goals of increasing yields and profits while minimizing environmental impact. The program runs from March to October.
Responsibilities will include blog writing, in-field video updates, and monthly agronomy updates with other Illinois ag professionals.
Participating in the Soy Envoy program will provide the opportunity to network, participate in professional development opportunities, earn continuing education credits, have first access to ISA funded research and industry resources, enhance your verbal and written communications skills and grow your online agronomic presence.
“ISA is here to communicate the knowledge of great ag professionals across the state on our ILSoyAdvisor platform to support Illinois soybean farmers,” says Peterson. “We hope you join the program and help lead the way for agronomic insights this growing season.”
