CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — Many farms have considered having an event at their farm as a marketing strategy to attract customers and generate revenue. Hosting visitors to your farm for events such as harvest dinners, customer open houses, festivals, or private events may seem like a great idea, but will it be worth the return? At this workshop Marie Anselm will share the results of a NorthEast SARE study that tracked farm event customers over a two year period to determine how farm events help farms gain and retain customers. Marie will share information on what to expect from hosting an event on your farm to make it successful for your operation. There will also be the opportunity to discuss agritourism opportunities in Ontario County. Farms of all kinds, especially those selling directly to their customers, are encouraged to attend! This workshop will take place April 4, 2018 from 6:30pm-8:30 pm at Cornell Cooperative Extension Ontario County, 480 N Main Street, Canandaigua.
