ARDMORE, Okla. — Noble Research Institute researchers and Irrigation Mart representatives will host an Irrigation Systems and Design in Specialty Crops Workshop, from 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, May 22, at the Noble Research Institute Protected Ag Area, located on the main campus in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
This program is tailored to fruit, vegetable and pecan growers who are looking to improve their production systems through irrigation.
“While specialty crops offer high profit potential, they also present unique management challenges,” said Steve Upson, Noble Research Institute senior horticulture consultant. “There are many considerations to make before growing specialty crops. Irrigation is one of the first.”
Attendees will learn how to properly determine irrigation needs and install systems to increase their production efficiency and minimize water usage. By the end of the workshop, attendees will understand the importance of irrigation to production and be able to identify system requirements.
This workshop is open to the public, but preregistration is requested. For more information or to register, please visit www.noble.org/events or call 580-223-5810.
