SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Pork Producers Association has selected a new slate of officers for 2017 during the Illinois Pork Expo on January 31-February 1 in Springfield. Jason Propst will serve as President, Mike Haag for President-Elect, Pam Janssen for Vice President/Treasurer, and Dale Weitekamp will be Secretary.
New President Jason Propst is from Cumberland County and is beginning his seventh year on the IPPA board. Throughout this time he has served in various officer positions and on multiple committees. He has also taken on many local, state, and national leadership roles. He is currently as a production manager for TLS Farmer Network, LLC where he manages their wean-to-finish pig flow and as a swine enterprise specialist for FS Total Livestock Services.
Mike Haag is a 12 year veteran of the IPPA board. He is from Emington, IL and markets 16,000 feeder pigs annually. In addition to being a director, he has served in multiple officer positions, committees and on the PAC Board. Mike also serves on various national committees and helps out at local agriculture events.
From Minonk, IL, Pam Janssen will be serving as the Vice President/Treasurer for 2017. Pam represents District 4 and has previously served as secretary. She is also involved in the Woodford County Pork Producers, Illinois Farm Families, Illinois Farm Bureau, and Illinois Beef Producers.
Dale Weitekamp, from Raymond, IL will serve as Secretary for 2017. He is a co-owner and operator of a contract wean-to-finish swine farm. In the past he has served in multiple officer capacities for the Mid-Illinois Pork Producers and currently serves on a number of IPPA committees. Dale also enjoys getting involved in his local community in his free time.
