SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Pork Producers Association has three new incoming board members this year. Darren Sims will now be representing District 6, Chad Leman will be an At-Large Director, and Alan Hays will be the Allied Industry Representative.
Darren Sims, District 6 Director, is from a 5th generation farm and owns and manages a 5,000-sow breed-wean operation, along with 1,600 acres of corn and soybeans in a partnership. He is a 2016 graduate of the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program and is involved in his local community. He and his wife, Andrea, have two young boys and reside in Adams County.
Chad Leman will serve as an At-Large Director on the IPPA Board. He is a 3rd generation farmer who has corn, soybeans, 2,400 sows and is part of a Pioneer dealership. He is very involved in is local community and has served on the Illinois Pork Expo planning committee and as an IPPA delegate in the past. He and his wife, Staci, have four children and live in Woodford County.
Alan Hays will serve as the Allied Industry Representative. In addition to being a very active part of his community he has been active with various IPPA activities previously including the Illinois State Fair, Illinois Products Expo, and Legislative Day. He is a 2nd generation farmer, managing 120 acres and works for AP. He and his wife, Christy, have two grown children and three grandchildren, and reside in Christian County.
