Iowa Ag Prices report

January corn prices $1.30 higher than the previous year

The average price received by farmers for corn during January 2022 in Iowa was $5.70 per bushel according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report. This was 16 cents above the December price and $1.30 above January 2021. (Iowa Corn Growers Association)

Des Moines, Iowa — The average price received by farmers for corn during January 2022 in Iowa was $5.70 per bushel according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report. This was 16 cents above the December price and $1.30 above January 2021. 

The January 2022 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $12.90 per bushel, was 40 cents above the December price and $1.60 above the January 2021 price. 

The January average oat price per bushel, at $4.59, was $1.16 below December but 84 cents above January 2021. 

All hay prices in Iowa averaged $155.00 per ton in January. This was $7.00 below the December price but $40.00 above the January 2021 price. The January 2022 alfalfa hay price, at $165.00, was $7.00 below the previous month but $44.00 above January 2021. The average price received for other hay during January was $138.00 per ton. This was $10.00 below the December price but $37.00 above January last year. 

The average price for milk was $23.40 per cwt, $1.90 above the December price and $5.60 above January 2021.
