WASHINGTON — The Rural & Agriculture Council of America (RACA) would like to commend the Trump Administration for investing $462 million to modernize critical drinking water and wastewater infrastructure across rural America.
The Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program will fund 161 projects, benefiting 467,000 rural residents. RACA President Jack Alexander issued the following statement on the announcement:
“We appreciate the ongoing work by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and specifically Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Bette Brand, in helping to ensure the health and well-being of hundreds of thousands rural residents across the U.S.
“In Montana alone, this investment will fund $3.3 million in loans and over $1.2 million in grants for infrastructure improvements in Roberts-Carbon County, Ryegate, Wolf Point, Sanders County, and Harlowtown. These projects will update facilities that are decades overdue for maintenance and repair. RACA looks forward to the implementation of these project and the transformation of these rural communities as a result of this funding.”
