WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Are you interested in working in the dairy industry? If so, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County (CCEJC) is hosting a Dairy Career Day on Saturday, November 6th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Jefferson Community College.
This event is open to anyone interested in a career in the dairy industry, to include high school students, college students, transitioning military, veterans, and the public.
Local dairy farms, milk processors, and other dairy industry representatives will discuss career paths, educational requirements, training, benefits, and how to find jobs in the industry. Careers include nutritionist, herdsman, calf manager, milk truck driver, mechanic, quality assurance technician, robotics technician, and more!
Lunch will be provided after the panel discussion. In the afternoon, attendees have the option to tour Porterdale Farms to see an actual dairy in operation. CCEJC will provide transportation to and from Porterdale Farms for those needing a ride.
