BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. — The Master Gardener Department of Cornell Cooperative Extension Saratoga County is hosting an open forum discussion on Saratoga mushrooms. The meeting will take place from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM on Wednesday April 17, 2019 at Cornell Cooperative Extension Saratoga County located at 50 West High Street, Ballston Spa, NY.
In collaboration with local, amateur, mycologist Jeff Barnes, the conversation will cover sustainable use of mushrooms, responsible ways to collect them that does not harm the fungi or their habitats, and the potential of creating a local mushroom club. The Saratoga Area lacks any mycological resources and a public appeal is being made to assist in changing this. Join this get-together to review future options, such as organized mushroom hunts, workshops, and lectures. If you have any interest, at all, in mushrooms then your thoughts, considerations, and presence will be greatly appreciated.
Please contact Sue Beebe via 518-885-8995 for details and questions.
