ALLENTOWN, Pa. —Dive Even Deeper – Inquiring About Mining and Water Quality is a new program conceived as part of Penn State Extension’s award-winning Dive Deeper Water Educators Summit. Dive Even Deeper takes educators further into unique water topics during a one-day, hands-on, interactive workshop.
This workshop is Friday, September 20, 2019, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm at Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
The Dive Even Deeper workshops are regional in nature and will provide educators with the opportunity to expand their own knowledge, take home new ideas to share in their classrooms, and create new networking opportunities – all while continuing to promote the importance of teaching youth to become future stewards of our water resources.
Topics to be covered: Western PA Mining History, Mining and Water Quality Impacts, Generating Curiosity in the Classroom, Conducting Investigations and AMD Treatment Exploration.
Act 48 Hours will be provided to Pennsylvania Certified teachers. Educators must bring their PDE ID# with them to the workshop.
The cost of this workshop is $35. Registration deadline is September 13, 2019.
