INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Farm Bureau is hosting an educational program in partnership with Great Lakes Ag Labor Services, LLC (GLALS) to assist Indiana agriculturalists with navigating the H-2A program.
Agricultural employers in Indiana who are looking to employ nonimmigrant foreign workers for seasonal labor are encouraged to join the virtual session. The session is Oct. 29 from 11 a.m-12:15 p.m. EDT and is free of charge. An INFB membership is not required to attend. Attendees will gain insights into how to best navigate the H-2A application and employment process and how INFB and GLALS can help.
In early 2020, INFB partnered with GLALS to offer its members H-2A assistance, including: pre-approval management review; drafting, filing and processing government agency applications; translation services; domestic recruitment advertising, bilingual applicant interviews, reference checks and more. GLALS was established by Michigan Farm Bureau in 2015. Through its partnership with Varnum Law, GLALS provides legal support and 24-hour online access to a Labor Compliance guide to interested INFB members.
The program will feature representatives of GLALS, perspective from a grower utilizing H-2A labor and legal perspective from attorneys Kim Clarke of Varnum Law in Michigan and Angela Adams of Adams Immigration Law in Indianapolis. Opportunity for question/answer will also be provided.
