VOORHEESVILLE, N.Y. — Soil health is the foundation of all agricultural operations. FarmOps’ Soil Health Training includes presentations on the chemical, physical, and biological aspects of soil health. We’ll explore understanding soil health tests, and how to build soil health with cover crops. Cropping systems and soil health principles will be discussed and illustrated with table-top demonstrations. Then, we’ll go into the field for demonstrations to gain a better understanding of soil health.
Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County and the Capital Area Agriculture & Horticulture Program are pleased to announce the FarmOps Soil Health Training, which is to be held on April 28, 2022 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. This meeting begins at CCE Albany Co., 24 Martin Road, Voorheesville, NY 12186 for the morning, and moves to Indian Ladder Farm, 342 Altamont Road, Altamont, NY 12009 at noon.
Veterans may attend this workshop free of charge. Lunch, refreshments, and materials are included. Non-veteran fees: Residents of Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schenectady and Washington Counties, $40 for first person attending, $20 for each additional person. Residents of all other areas: $60 for the first person attending, $20 for each additional person.
