SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Youth, ages 8-18 years of age, are invited to attend a free event geared toward the pork industry. The Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) Youth and Education Committee has planned a full day’s worth of learning at the 2020 Youth Day, themed “Career Exploration.”
The event takes place in the Livestock Center at the Illinois State Fairgrounds on Saturday, Feb. 15. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. with the program starting at 10:00. Earlybird Nutrition is the title sponsor and will conduct a one-hour workshop at the beginning of the event. Then kids will rotate through various career booths to learn about opportunities in their future and enjoy a pork burger lunch, provided by IPPA.
Families are encouraged to spend the day together learning about swine, the pork industry in Illinois, and career opportunities in their future. Pre-registration is required. A full schedule and registration link can be found at ilpork.com. Parents are welcome to attend with their children.
