SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois Beef Association (IBA) is hosting their 2023 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 6, in Springfield. IBA members and stakeholders will meet to discuss industry issues, network with other producers, elect leadership, and honor award recipients. This year’s conference is a one-day event held in the Artisans Building located on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
With the new single day schedule, the event will consist of the IBA Annual Meeting and lunch followed by several Cattlemen’s Education Series (CES) sessions, tours of the new IBA Office and a happy hour reception, as well as the Awards Ceremony and dinner. The annual meeting includes a review of the association’s year, as well as a preview of what the remainder of 2023 and into 2024 has in store for the Illinois beef industry.
The three CES sessions, made possible by support from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and National Corn Growers Association, covers international beef trade with John Herath of U.S. Meat Export Federation, livestock marketing with David Hales of Hales Trading Co., Inc., and the latest in cattle identification and technology with a panel including Dr. Staci Slager from the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Dr. Buzz Iliff, DVM, and Laura Fidler from Fairview Sale Barn
IBA is also hosting tours of the new association office space, located across the fairgrounds in Building 30, during the reception sponsored by Farm Credit Illinois. The evening will conclude with a beef dinner and the Awards Ceremony, where the association will honor and recognize member award winners, Beef Leadership Academy participants, Illinois Beef Foundation scholarship recipients and much more.
