AMES, Iowa — The Iowa Beef Industry Council (IBIC) has contracted with Rochelle Gilman as Director of Nutrition and Health Promotions Consultant. Gilman will be assisting the IBIC through a contract in the areas of health, nutrition and retail programs.
Gilman is a Registered Dietitian with over 20 years of dietetic and retail experience, most recently serving as Corporate Dietitian with Hy-Vee. She and her family raise shorthorn cattle near Stuart, Iowa.
Gilman has a passion for the beef industry and expressed, “this is a dream for me to use nutrition to promote the product we raise and love.”
“We understand that beef’s nutritional information is vital to our consumers, dietitians and health professionals,” comments Chris Freland, Executive Director of IBIC. “Having Gilman work alongside our staff will allow us to extend our nutrition and health programming throughout the state of Iowa. The experience Gilman brings in retail will bode well for growing beef demand and serve as a valuable asset to the producers we serve.”
Gilman is no stranger to the work of the Beef Checkoff Program as she was instrumental in working through the discussions in Washington D.C. related to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans in 2015 and ensuring beef was top of mind. Gilman can be reached at rochelle@iabeef.org.
