INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Beef Cattle Association held elections during the recent Area Beef Meetings to choose four Area Directors who sit on the IBCA-IBC Board of Directors. Beef producers in Area 2 elected Alan Armstrong of Springville, producers in Area 6 elected Doug Abney of Bargersville, producers in Area 8 re-elected Ron Manning of Macy and Kelly Sheiss of Larwill was elected in Area 11.
During its annual business meeting at the Caribbean Cove Hotel and Conference Center on Jan. 28, the IBCA membership elected the slate of officers for 2017-2018. The new officers approved by the membership were: President, Tim Schwab of Batesville; President-Elect, Joe Horstman of West Lafayette; Vice President, Dr. Bruce Lamb of Milford and Treasurer, Neal Smith from Pendleton. Also serving on the Executive Committee with the officers are Promotions Committee Chair, Jennie Hodgin; Membership Chair, Neil Hollingsworth and Immediate Past President, Lance Sennett.
The IBCA Board of Directors is made up of 10 Area Directors as well as representatives from dairy, veal and allied industries. These local producer leaders serve on the board for the IBCA as well as the Indiana Beef Council to manage the collection and allocation of the Beef Checkoff.
