FRANKFORT, Ky. — Feeding Kentucky will celebrate Hunger Free Kentucky Day virtually on February 18 as member food banks, community leaders, and others pour their time and resources into helping Kentuckians affected by recent flooding.
This latest disaster reminds us how important our advocacy is: Hunger can affect anyone, at any moment.
Instead of gathering in Frankfort, Feeding Kentucky, partner food banks, and other advocates will focus our number one mission: ensuring those who urgently need food in communities across the Commonwealth can get it.
While we aren’t gathering in person as planned, you can still help us make Hunger Free Kentucky Day a success. Here’s how:
- Help your local food bank – make plans to volunteer or take action now and make a donation. The flooding has impacted thousands of Kentuckians. In addition to housing issues, many of them now face food insecurity, too.
- Post about why you participate in Hunger Free Kentucky Day on social media. We’ve provided a few draft posts and graphics in this folder for download and use. You can also write your own, just be sure to use #HungerFreeKY in your posts!
