WASECA, Minn. — The 24th annual Horticulture Day will be held at the Southern Research and Outreach Center in Waseca on Saturday, March 3. Pre-registration is required and due by Monday, February 19.
The event begins with registration and refreshments at 8:30 a.m. followed by the program at 9:00 a.m. An excellent program will include the following topics and speakers. “Growing Fruit in your Home Landscape”, Jeffrey Johnson, MN Landscape Arboretum. Dr. Kenny Blumenfeld, from the State Climatology Office will provide information and facts to “Understanding Minnesota’s Changing Climatology”. “Fascinating Pollinators: Who They Are and How to Help”, Karin Jokela, Xerces Society pollinator conservation planner and partner biologist. “Growing and Preserving Herbs to Add Fragrance to the Garden and Taste to Food” this presentation will be provided by Nancy Schumacher, Grower and supplier to numerous farmers’ markets.
