COBLESKILL, N.Y. — Schoharie County Master Gardeners will host “Hops for Homeowners” for homeowner enthusiasts. The workshop will be held on Thursday, October 26, 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Center, 173 South Grand Street in Cobleskill. This session will be led by Jason Stone, hops producer and consultant, who will present “all things hops” pertaining to homeowners.
The workshop is $5 per person. Space is limited; pre-registration is appreciated by calling CCE in Cobleskill at 518-234-4303, or emailing schoharie@cornell.edu.
With a degree in Plant Science from SUNY Cobleskill, Mr. Stone has been growing hops and consulting since 2013 for the burgeoning hops industry in the northeast, including hops variety trials at Brewery Ommegang and in collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County. He is the proprietor of Oaks Creek Farm in Otsego County which includes greenhouse and landscape businesses.
