LEWES, Del. — For 24 hours from 6 p.m. March 3rd through 6 p.m. March 4th, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market asks the community to join the HLFM to do more for Delawareans. In those 24 hours, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market is hoping to raise $12,500 to purchase fresh local food from local family farms to give to Delaware families in need.
Small family farms need help and so do the families in our community who use food banks. The HLFM’s unique program supports both by purchasing food from family farms and delivering that local food to area food banks. The HLFM will make sure that there is a balance of fresh veggies, fruit, eggs, milk, and bread to be delivered direct to the food banks from the farmers for distribution.
The HLFM asks for the community’s help on March 3rd to 4th at https://www.domore24delaware.
