LEWES, Del. — For 24 hours from Thursday 6 p.m. March 2nd through Friday 6 p.m. March 3rd, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market asks the community to join the HLFM to Do More for Delawareans. In those 24 hours, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market is hoping to raise $10,000 to support our programs to help small family farms grow and to increase the access of the fresh local food from those farmers to all in our community. The HLFM is a unique Delaware non-profit that provides annual scholarships to small farmers, matches SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits at both of its markets, and purchases fresh local food from our local family farms to give to Delaware families in need. Our small farmers need help and so do the families who use SNAP and food pantries. The HLFM will use the $10,000 on these programs and more.
The HLFM asks for the community’s help on March 2nd and 3rd at https://www.domore24delaware.
