Poor diet is a leading risk factor for morbidity and mortality in the United States and contributes to one in five deaths globally. The 2023 Lebanon County Health Needs Assessment notes that over 40% of residents are interested in preparing healthy meals and in growing vegetables. This class series offers an opportunity to learn together how to “be well, eat well, and shop well” through fun, hands-on group experiences. Participants will receive supplies and recipe ingredients each week, and those who complete all four classes will receive a gift certificate to a local Farmers Market.
Gardening in Your Neighborhood provides science-based educational experiences that are courtesy of the American Heart Association and Aramark’s Healthy for Life® program, which helps improve the health of all Americans through nutrition outreach and education.
