JEFFERSON CO., N.Y. — Jefferson County Agricultural Coordinator, Jay Matteson, will be joined by Mr. Tom Sleight on August 27 at 12pm for the next installment of the “Road to Recovery – Path to 2025” Farmers’ Luncheon Webinar series. Jay will interview Mr. Sleight about the impact of new trade deals; the COVID – 19 disaster and other events on agricultural international trade. Mr. Sleight recently retired from his 25 year career with the U.S. Grains Council, promoting feed, livestock, energy, food and industrial uses of coarse grains through cooperative programs with governments, organizations, companies and farmers in over 50 countries. Mr. Sleight also served as Executive Director of the NY Farm Viability Institute where he helped expand the Institute and created the NY Center for Dairy Excellence.
The Farmers’ Luncheon Webinars are hosted by Jay Matteson who has 20 years of experience in agricultural economic development with Jefferson County Economic Development and as host of The Home Grown Show, northern New York’s agricultural radio talk show.
