GREENWICH, N.Y. — ASA is celebrating its Golden Birthday, 27 years on Thursday, April 27th, 2017. After 27 years of working with farm families to conserve 17,177 acres in Washington and Rensselaer counties, the Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) has accumulated thousands of beautiful photos of farms, food and hard-working farm families. Twenty seven hours of celebration are planned to commemorate the event, beginning Wednesday April 26th at noon.
Each hour, ASA will post a picture on their Facebook page that shows the impact your donations have made over the years. The pictures will highlight conserved farms, community programs, and events held over the past 27 years.
ASA is inviting the community to participate in their Golden Birthday day by asking people to send images they have captured on their cell phones or digital cameras of their favorite farms, farm products or scenery and to either send the picture via email to Katie@agstewarship.org or to share the picture directly on the ASA Facebook page with a short description. “This is our way of high-fiving everyone who has helped ASA get where it is today and showing off the bounty of our region” ASA associate director, Renee Bouplon said. “ASA’s golden birthday is all about sharing the bounty of what we have been working towards these past 27 years.”
You can also help celebrate ASA’s birthday by donating a gift of $27, $54, or $277. Please make donations on ASA’s website, via Facebook or by snail mail at 2531 State Route 40, Greenwich, NY 12834.
The Agricultural Stewardship Association was founded in 1990 by farmers to protect agricultural land and ensure a future for farming in our region. For more information about ASA’s work, visit www.agstewardship.org.
