WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County will be offering a series of five workshops for vegetable growers who would like to learn more about growing vegetables for commercial or direct sales. The workshops are all held on Wednesdays throughout October from 2pm to 5pm at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County offices located at 203 North Hamilton Street.
Workshops include pests and diseases, growing in high tunnels, growing pumpkins and sweet corn for profit, harvesting and post-harvest handling and long range planning, crop rotation and field layout.
Cornell Vegetable Specialists will be coming from across NYS to provide expertise, including Jud Reid, Mike Hunter, Amy Ivy and Crystal Steward.
