SACRAMENTO — Food Processing Expo 2019 will be held February 12-13 in Sacramento, California. The Expo is the largest food processing trade show in California and is attended by food processors and allied industry members from throughout the state, the U.S. and several international countries.
In addition to the expansive trade show floor, the Expo features two days of industry workshops of interest to both large and small food producers, includingMaking Energy Efficiency Programs Work for Your Operation, Protect Your Company from Food Labeling Litigation, Hiring & Training Workers to Run Your Plant, What You Need to Know About New GMO Labeling Rules and Connecting Technology Innovators with Food Processors.
A Pre-Expo event will be held on February 11 – A Comprehensive Labor & Employment Workshop – and will provide pertinent information on key labor issues such as paid sick leave policies (including usability/enforcement options), human trafficking, immigration – I-9s, wage & hour, Cal Savers Retirement Savings Program (Secure Choice) and more. In addition, workshop attendees can earn credits toward both HRCI and SHRM certification.
Raley’s CEO and President Keith Knopf is the Expo Keynote Speaker and will discuss retail food trends. Knopf is recognized as a Fortune 200 leader with more than 25 years of retail experience.
The Expo also includes a Tasting Pavilion, which this year will feature food product demonstrations on February 13 by Elisabeth Watkins, The Farm Girl Chef. Watkins is a Food Network Chopped Junior winner and holds many other food accolades. She learned to appreciate food growing up on a sixth-generation family farm near Linden, California.
The Food Processing Expo is produced each year by the California League of Food Producers (CLFP), an association representing the interests of both large and small food and beverage processors throughout the state. CLFP works to help ensure a favorable and profitable business environment for its members and the food processing industry.
