DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine (AP) — A Maine organic group and a soil conservation district are working with growers to help get old apple trees back into production.
The Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District and Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association collaborated on the Renovating Old Apple Trees Workshops. The soil district says the workshop will help interested people learn how to maintain older trees and get them back into production.
The workshop was held on March 3 as the fourth installment of an ongoing orcharding series offered by the soil district. The district says the orcharding series will continue in the future.
