HAMBURG, N.Y. — New York Farm Bureau’s WNY Region and The New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Grain Bin safety and rescue demonstration unit at the 2018 WNY Farm Show at the Erie County Fair Grounds in Hamburg, NY. The demonstration unit is provided by the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety (NECAS), located in Peosta, Iowa. NECAS travels all over the country with this unit in order to teach farmers and emergency personnel about grain bin safety and rescue techniques.
Visitors to the WNY Farm Show will learn critical information about grain bin safety. NECAS Agricultural Safety Director Dan Neenan will offer the 20-minute grain bin safety demonstrations every hour throughout the show hours on Thursday and Friday.
There will also be three, free classes offered to firefighters and EMS personnel.
This is the schedule for free training sessions for firefighters and EMS personnel:
Thursday 2/1/2018: 6:00 to 8:00 PM Agricultural Trauma Class for EMS personnel
Friday 2/2/2018: 6:00 to 10:00 PM Firefighter Grain Bin Rescue Class
Saturday 2/3/2018: 10:00 am until 3:00 PM, Firefighter Grain Bin Rescue Class
