COLUMBIA, Mo. — Golfers hit the greens June 5 in support of Missouri 4-H youth at the ninth annual 4-H Clover Classic Golf Tournament in Columbia. Co-presenting sponsors were The Climate Corp., a division of Monsanto; and Great American Insurance-Crop Division.
“We are so grateful for the generosity of our partners and friends who have teamed up with Missouri 4-H Foundation to raise more than $37,000 for Missouri 4-H,” said Rachel Augustine, director of the Missouri 4-H Foundation. “Twenty-four teams joined us in support of the MU Extension 4-H Youth Development Program.”
Co-chair Bob Idel, with MU Vice Chancellor for Extension and Engagement Marshall Stewart and Chris Chinn, director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture, welcomed players and thanked everyone for their ongoing support of youth in agriculture before challenging teams to have fun on the golf course while supporting Missouri 4-H youth.
Awards for the first-place Championship Flight went to the team of Steve Ball, Ben Gallup, Trenton Monnig and Kory Neisen. Awards for the second-place Championship Flight went to the FCS Financial team of Jeremy Haley, Brett Bryant, Chad Barnes and Austin Gaughan.
Awards for the first-place A Flight went to the UMKC team of Brandon King, Carl Calkins, Brianna Broddaick and Tom McVeigh. Awards for the second-place A Flight went to the Crop Risk Services team of Mitchell Moon, Tristan Bolin, Kim Whitworth and Russell Mitchell.
Awards for first-place B Flight went to the Farm Bureau team of Eric Volmer, BJ Tanksley, Estil Fretwell and Dylan Lange. Awards for second-place B Flight went to the Great American Insurance-Crop Division team of Randy Barr, Mike Guinan, Jill McMillan and Brian Johnson.
Foursomes teed off under the banner of hat sponsor FCS Financial.
