Goehring announces ADD awards funding

The awards totaling $825,000 were approved at the ADD quarterly meeting Nov. 16 in Wahpeton

BISMARCK, N.D. – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced Agricultural Diversification and Development (ADD) Fund awards for four projects. The awards totaling $825,000 were approved at the ADD quarterly meeting Nov. 16 in Wahpeton.

The ADD Fund is administered by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture in association with the Bank of North Dakota. The fund was created to support new or expanding value-added-agriculture businesses that demonstrate financial feasibility, enhance profitability for farmers and ranchers, create jobs and grow North Dakota’s economy. Types of projects eligible for the fund include but are not limited to: food production and processing facilities, feed or pet food processing facilities, commodity processing facilities, agriculture product manufacturing and animal production facilities.

The following received approval:

  • North American Bison, LLC was awarded $250,000 for construction costs for expansion of the North American Bison facility in New Rockford. Contact Mike Jacobson at 701-947-2505.
  • Two Track Malting, LLC was awarded $250,000 to purchase malting equipment to expand production capacity of the facility. Contact Jared Stober at 701-595-3388.
  • Cloverdale Foods Company was awarded $125,000 to cover costs to resolve issues of inefficiency related to the current electrical distribution system within the facility. Contact Scott Staudinger at 701-663-9511.
  • 6 in 1 Meats, LLC was awarded $200,000 to assist with construction costs to expand the 6 in 1 Meats facility in New Salem. Contact Travis Maddock at 701-541-3834.

ADD will hold its next grant application hearing on Feb. 15, 2023, in the Bismarck-Mandan area. Applications for the Feb. meeting must be received by Jan. 1, 2023.
