LONG PRAIRIE, Minn. — The University of Minnesota Extension will host a goat and sheep nutrition webinar on Thursday May 13th starting at 6:30pm CT. Dr. Clay Elliott and Dr. Travis Hoffman will provide insight on nutrition considerations for goats and sheep. Farmers, 4-Hers, ag business professionals who work with farmers, and those interested in goats or sheep are invited to attend.
Dr. Clay Elliott, Purina Nutritionist, has a strong background in livestock production. He understands the commercial industry, has raised nationally-competitive sheep, and is excited to share his expertise and experiences with producers from all across the country. Dr. Elliot’s career path now allows him the chance to develop new products and formula for small ruminants to help meat goat and sheep producers resolve nutritional issues and improve their operations.
As we shift into early summer, sheep & goat nutrition becomes important for producer success. Dr. Elliot will provide insight on how we can provide growth and value to this year’s lamb/kid crop and keep our ewes and does progressing through the summer and fall. Additionally, we will address mineral and supplementation options.
Please join us as Dr. Elliott, and Dr. Travis Hoffman, UMN/NDSU Extension Sheep Specialist, provide a thought-provoking discussion on small ruminant nutrition, and bring your questions for the interactive Q&A session.
