GMS appoints Andy Wright to key sales role

Wright will lead all sales efforts for Green Mill’s cutting-edge technology

PUBLISHED ON April 18, 2022

Andy Wright.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Green Mill Supercritical, the first and only CO2 extraction manufacturer to eliminate the use of ethanol in the primary extraction process, has hired experienced technical sales professional Andy Wright to lead sales efforts of its expanding line of extraction technologies, including the recently launched Real-Time Winterization™ (RTW) module, which enables ethanol-free extraction that reduces overall costs while enhancing terpene and cannabinoid retention. Wright will be based in Pittsburgh and will report to Green Mill Supercritical CEO Wes Reynolds.

“In today’s competitive extraction environment, sales professionals have to serve the needs of our customers across business, technical and productivity challenges,” said Wes Reynolds, CEO of Green Mill Supercritical. “We are fortunate that Andy has the skills to address all of these areas with the seasoned experience and technical knowledge that Green Mill’s partners have come to expect.”

The company first announced its breakthrough RTW technology in late 2021, and has since fully commercialized, sold, and shipped the product. With the era of ethanol-based winterization coming to an end, extraction businesses are realizing tremendous savings in construction, capital expense, operating expense, and avoidance of product loss utilizing Green Mill Supercritical’s Real-Time Winterization. Past efforts to bypass ethanol winterization with supercritical CO₂ failed due to the inability of the extraction equipment to achieve and sustain the required conditions. Quality and efficiency limits made it a non-starter for any serious operation.

During his time as account manager at Swagelok, Wright worked directly with the Green Mill production crew to integrate the highest-quality components into the latest product designs such as RTW.

“I have admired from afar the tenacity of Green Mill’s team to reach for, and achieve, what many thought were impossible technological goals,” said Wright. “It’s gratifying to be joining the team, and I look forward to working with everyone at Green Mill Supercritical as well as companies across the country and the world as we continue to expand the possibilities of supercritical CO2 extraction. For a technical sales geek like myself, it doesn’t get any better.”
